If you want to be liked and admired based on your intellect, you must do your reading. Highly successful people claim to read for, at least, 30 minutes each day.

Again, something your middle-school teacher would probably tell you over and over. It makes sense, though. Being an eloquent speaker is something that can make or break your career or even your personal life. Thеrе iѕ аnоthеr side tо productivity, аnd that is time. Ask yourself, was the activity соmрlеtеd in thе орtimum timе frame? Thаt aspect iѕ аlwауѕ ореn tо debate.

Withоut trying tо bе cute, rеmеmbеr thаt уоu саn аlwауѕ bе busy аnd рrоduсtivе, but thе reverse iѕ not nесеѕѕаrilу truе.

Sо, at the еnd оf a buѕу day, or shall I say a full dау, what was thе vеrdiсt? Yоu wеrе wоrking hаrd аll dау and fеlt аѕ if you could nоt have wоrkеd аnу harder. But hоw would уоu honestly rank your day?

Pеорlе саn keep thеmѕеlvеѕ buѕу in mаnу wауѕ; ѕреnding all of their time оrgаnizing and preparing (ѕоmе iѕ gооd – too much iѕ bad), tаlking оn thе рhоnе, burying themselves in еmаil, viѕiting with реорlе, ѕurfing thе intеrnеt, hаunting ѕосiаl mеdiа оutlеtѕ, and even dеаling with other people’s problems, еtс.

However, indiѕсriminаtе, еvеn scheduled buѕуnеѕѕ can оftеn lеаd tо fruѕtrаtiоn and fееling inеffесtive if уоu аrе busying yourself with thingѕ thаt aren’t rеаllу imроrtаnt.

Here is a great question I want you to ask yourself:

Are thе itеmѕ on уоur task liѕt bringing уоu сlоѕеr tо achieving уоur most imроrtаnt goals?

If nоt, thеn I want you to tаkе a rеаllу саrеful lооk аt why you are ѕtill dоing it! Bеing truly рrоduсtivе does nоt involve juѕt сhесking thingѕ оff of уоur liѕt or always gеtting a lоt done.

1. Create a Morning / Evening Routine

The most important factor in becoming more consistent is to create a morning ritual and a evening ritual. Oftentimes, the way you begin your day will set the precedent for how the rest of your day will be. If you start off your day bad, then most likely the rest of your day will be bad. Start it off good and you will have a good day. A morning ritual is simply a routine that you perform every morning that gets you into the right mind state. No matter what, always stick to this routine like glue.

Another thing that is important that many people overlook is to have an evening routine. It is well known that a morning routine can make a huge difference in your consistency and starting your day on a good note is important – but what about how you end it?

Ending your day in a good way is vital as well and in fact, I believe determines how you start off your day even MORE than you morning routine. If you end a day off on bad terms, you probably won’t start off the next day well either. However, if you crush your evening routine it will set the momentum for the next day.

2. Do Things Even When You Don’t Want To

When you first start to pursue a goal you will probably be super motivated and excited, so working hard won’t be a hard thing for you to do. However, once you have been at it for a while and things start to get routine, your excitement may dwindle a little bit and you will find it harder to have motivation to work towards your goals.

There will be days that you just don’t feel like doing something that you have to do. These are the days that will make or break you. Do things EVEN when you don’t feel like it. People who are massively successful do this and it’s the difference maker.

3. Focus on The Process Not The Outcome

Many times when we have goals we are tempted to only focus on the end result that we desire to have. But in reality, success does not come overnight and there is a process required first. In fact, success can sometimes take months and even years.

If you focus on the end goal only you will become discouraged often because you will feel like you aren’t achieving your goals fast enough. However, when you focus and use your energy on the process instead of thinking about the end goal, you will have a lot more motivation and you will be more consistent.

4. Use Your Environment

Another very important thing to do is to use your environment to give you reminders. When you have your goals written down somewhere, like a board or on post-its, you will be constantly reminded of what you need to get done and it will be a lot harder to procrastinate. Also, use things such as a screen saver or background to serve as a reminder as well. Don’t these things will help to you to be more consistent.

5. Let Go of Your Old Self

You may have set many goals for yourself and fell short because you needed to be more consistent. But don’t beat yourself up. Accept the fact that the past is the past and don’t hold on to that old image of yourself.

Instead, focus on the new version of yourself that you will become. Focus on the person you are now that will be consistent and that will take consistent action.

Don’t beat yourself up.

With that being said, in this article I will give you 6 tips that will show you how to set goals and how to achieve your goals.

1. Write Down Your Goals and Visualize

The first step you need to take so that you can achieve your goals is to actually write them down. When you write down your goals they actually come to life.

Writing them down gives you something that you can actually read to yourself every day and is a way to avoid forgetting about your commitment to them.

When you write your goals down, split them up into separate categories. Here is an example (keep in mind this is what works for me you can personalize this to however best suits you).

I. Spiritual
– Prayer Life
– Church

II. Business Goals
– What to invest in
– Product launch
– Strategy

III. Finances
– How much do I want to save
– Where to allocate funds

IV. Health and Fitness
– Diet
– Lifestyle
– Fitness Goals
– Where would I like to be?

V. Personal Relationships
– Boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse
– Friends/family

VI. Personal
– Vacation
– Massage
– Emotional

By dividing your goals up into different categories of your life you will be a lot more likely to see tremendous growth in several areas of your life at once. The key to becoming successful is to also remember to always remain balanced.

2. Break Down Your Goals

Now that you have your goals written down and you know which goals you want to achieve, they may seem a little overwhelming. The way to fix this is to break them down into smaller segments.

When you take a one year goal and break it down into smaller monthly and even weekly goals, it will be a lot easier for you to accomplish your goals.

As a result of being able to see your goals broken down into smaller and realistically achievable segments, you will develop confidence. You will also be laser focused as a result because you know have a plan of action.

3. Create A Schedule

Now that you have a clear vision of what goals you want to achieve and how you are going to achieve those goals, it’s time to actually schedule them.

Take some time and create a schedule for yourself. For example, set aside a specific time each day that you are going to commit to working out, working on your business, and spending time with friends.

It can be one day a week for an hour or if can be seven days a week for two hours, whatever works for you. Just be sure to schedule a time that you will commit to each task.

4. Include Your Goals Into Your Routine

Now that you have set your goals and have a schedule and game plan in place to achieve your goals it is time work on creating habits.

People who are truly successful do so by being consistent through the empowering habits they have created in their lives.

Make success a habit. Don’t commit to a diet but commit to health as a lifestyle. This is a way to bypass the need for discipline and will power.

5. Have Others Hold You Accountable

When you keep your goals to yourself it’s easy to cheat yourself. But when you tell others about your goals it puts a lot more pressure on you to keep your word otherwise you’ll look really silly. So tell at least one person about what goal you are trying to accomplish and have them hold you accountable.

Another good idea is to tell the world about what goals you want to achieve and post about them on social media, this way you will have to follow through with them or you will fall short in front of everybody.

Most People Are Sleeping

Yes, this is the truth. Next time you are out and about walking around, at work, or even at the gym I want you to take a look at how most people go about their days. You’ll notice that people barely interact with each other, do just enough to get the job done, eat fast food because it’s most convenient, and go through the motions–and do this everyday.

At the gym, you’ll notice a ton of people that are there everyday and yet their body doesn’t change one bit. How can someone go to the gym everyday and see no results? Because they are complacent. They have no plan. They don’t work out hard, and they go through the motions. They are just there so they can say they were at the gym.

Showing up isn’t enough. You have to show and prove.

Here’s story that really opened my eyes:

The other night I was at LA Fitness and something dawned upon me. It was around 6:30PM and packed during the after work rush and I randomly took a moment to look around and count how many people were actually exercising in that moment. Shockingly, out of maybe 200 people in the gym, only EIGHT people were actually lifting weights. Everyone else was either sitting at the machine on their phone, or generally procrastinating and talking to friends. Consequently, I noticed that the only people that were actually exercising happened to have the best physiques there, go figure.

So, here’s my point.

Most people do not exert themselves.

I was one of these people, and of course I struggle with this from time to time. I would procrastinate, sit around, and tell myself that I would do something later. I had all of the excuses in the world; generally I believe this is how most people are thinking. But the truth is, we don’t have all the time in the world. At any given moment something can happen to us and the lights will go out, for good. Which is why, it would be a good idea to figure out a way to get to working on your dream self now. If you could just figure out one way to get yourself to take massive action.

Do you realize that the world would be in your hands?

Here is one thing you can implement in to your life immediately that will propel your productivity and get you in the right mindset to dominate your day, everyday.

Bite The Bullet

Many of us have struggled with procrastination. This means to put off something that we need to do until a later time, the problem is, it never gets done. So what if I told you there was a way to reverse that process? Well, there is and it is called “biting the bullet.”

Biting the bullet means to complete your most difficult and important tasks first thing in the morning. If you want to workout and get in the best shape of your life do it first thing in the morning. If you have reading that must get done, or a business to work out on, do it first. Start your day off with a bang.

Knowing that you completed your most important and difficult tasks early on will give you tons of confidence throughout the rest of your day because you know that you are on top of your game when most people aren’t. Fire yourself up, wake up and realize that the time is NOW to take action.
